About the project
AI-200 Prep Study Guide
An open, comprehensive, and permanently free study resource for the Microsoft Azure AI Cloud Developer Associate (AI-200) certification.
Why We Built This
With Microsoft retiring the popular AZ-204 exam in July 2026, the developer certification path has evolved to AI-200 (Developing AI Cloud Solutions on Azure). While modern cloud development now requires deep knowledge of vector indexes, hybrid search, streaming messaging, and serverless containers, learning resources remain fragmented across scattered docs and expensive commercial paywalls.
AI-200 Prep was built to provide developers with a single, high-yield, and entirely free preparation hub: structured notes, deep technical decision matrices, interactive case studies, and a complete question bank covering all four exam domains.
What's Included
- 759 Practice Questions — Extensive scenario-based question corpus with comprehensive explanations and distractor breakdowns.
- 16 Fixed Practice Sets — Deterministic sets of 47–48 questions each, balanced across all four exam domains so you can track progress over time.
- Timed Mock Exams (20, 45 & 100 Questions) — Simulation modes including the official 100-minute format with case studies, real-time timer, and domain-by-domain pass/fail scoring.
- 400-Question Service Bank — Drill individual Azure services across 13 modules in either instant Quiz mode or comprehensive Study mode.
- 9 Core Study Modules — In-depth technical guides with animated architectural diagrams, CLI reference snippets, and common gotchas.
- Zero Paywalls or Accounts — Everything runs directly in the browser with full offline capability, zero cookies, and no registration required.
How Questions Are Made & Verified
Exam prep material is only useful if it reflects the real-world depth and tricky wording of Microsoft's live exam. Every question in this repository adheres to a strict 5-stage curation standard:
Blueprint Alignment
Directly mapped to the official AI-200 skills outline: Domain 1 (Containers 20–25%), Domain 2 (AI Data Solutions 25–30%), Domain 3 (Messaging 20–25%), and Domain 4 (Security & Monitoring 20–25%).
Scenario Architecture
Questions present realistic enterprise requirements (e.g. latency constraints, RU budgets, zero-trust Entra ID authentication, multi-region failover) rather than simple rote definitions.
Hands-On Azure Verification
Commands and configurations are executed against live Azure services (CLI, ARM/Bicep, SDKs) to verify exact flag names, default settings, and service tier limits.
Distractor Dissection
Explanations do not just state why the correct option is right; they explain exactly why each alternative option is either technically invalid, insecure, or fails the stated requirement.
Author & Engineering Lead
Rohan is a practicing Cloud & Infrastructure Software Engineer specializing in enterprise Kubernetes platforms, cloud-native container systems, and distributed vector data architectures on Microsoft Azure.
When preparing for the Microsoft AI-200 transition following the retirement of AZ-204, Rohan noticed a critical gap: existing prep materials were either superficial brain dumps with unverified answers or hidden behind expensive paywalls. Neither taught the deep systems engineering required to succeed on both the exam and in real-world production.
Rohan built ai200prep.com as a public, 100% free engineering resource. Every concept on this platform is backed by empirical lab benchmarks:
- AKS & Container Apps: Validating Workload Identity with Key Vault CSI drivers, KEDA scaling triggers, and multi-revision canary rollouts.
- Vector Search Benchmarking: Measuring latency and recall across Azure Cosmos DB DiskANN, PostgreSQL
pgvector(HNSW vs. IVFFlat), and Azure Managed Redis vector indexes. - Observability & Telemetry: Engineering end-to-end distributed tracing pipelines with OpenTelemetry exporters into Azure Monitor and Log Analytics workspaces.
Technical Review & Domain Contributors
To guarantee enterprise-grade technical accuracy, modules and scenario questions undergo peer verification by practicing cloud engineers across specific Microsoft Azure domains:
Editorial Standards & Anti-Braindump Policy
AI-200 Prep strictly complies with the Microsoft Candidate NDA. We do not use or tolerate braindumps. Every practice question and scenario is authored originally from official Microsoft Learn curricula (Course AI-200T00-A) and production architecture patterns. For full details on our testing and review methodology, read our complete Editorial Policy & Technical Standards →.
